Season Three of Star Search at Traxx is finally here.   Season Three  will run for 13 weeks on CVM-TV, Saturday nights at 9:00 pm.  This season, each episode has moved from 30 minutes to one hour (48 minutes).

The entertainment is provided by the best of a pool of talent in dance, music and drama, from across Jamaica, vying each night for the title of TRAXX' STAR SEARCH WINNER. The musical pool encompasses not only Reggae/Dance Hall but other forms like Mento, Jazz and Gospel.

This season will consist of:

4 Audition Shows

6 Studio Elimination Shows

2 Semi Final Shows

1 Grand Finale

The FIRST Star Search at Traxx winner was the unforgettable Raoul Cousley.  In 2001, his touching gospel renditions made him an audience favourite.  Raoul, and other talented contestant such as the violinist Mark Stephenson have gone on to even bigger and better things thanks to their exposure on Star Search at Traxx.

The SECOND Star Search at Traxx winners were the preteens Yanohe Brown and Joseph Morris.  Their catchy DJ tune about the importance of education secured them the top spot in the 2003 competition.

Millions of dollars worth of prizes are available for the winners of the elimination, semi-final and Grand Final rounds.  The overall winner will walk away with prizes valued over a million dollars in cash and prizes.

The new host of Star Search at Traxx is Donisha Prendergast.  Donisha has been making a name for herself on the stage but this young actress has many talents which have made her one of Jamaica's hottest young entertainers.  She is joined by the adorable "Dr Doom" who has become notorious for taking unlucky hopefuls off the stage when the fudgie horn sounds signaling the audience and judges' disapproval.  An important aspect of the show is the Traxx Posse.  The Traxx Posse provides musical backing and guidance to our contestants once they reach the studio eliminations.  The seasoned and well respected musician Desi Jones heads the Traxx Posse.

The studio audience assists a panel of celebrity judges by providing a thermometer for the level of acceptance of each competitor. The judges, who make the final call as to who the winners are for each night, are drawn from the entertainment industry and are stars in their own right.  They include Karen Harriot, Ras Kassa and the veteran judge Billy Wilmot.  Special guest judges include Audrey Reid and Mikey Bennett.

Major changes and surprises are in store this season.  Besides the new host, there are many more surpises this season.  With the introduction of the Traxx Cabaret, the Doom Girls and some special guests the third season of Star Search at Traxx promises to be the best ever.

TV Schedule: Premiering July 17 2004 - Saturday nights at 9:00 pm on CVM-TV (13 weeks)
